As senior vice president, Insurance and Physician Services, Jeff Copeland provides leadership in such critical areas as increasing revenue through new and improved payer contracts; developing expanded networks and contracts for hospitals, physicians and ancillary services; and reinforcing quality goals as they relate to payer contracts. He also oversees CHP's risk services and physician services functions. Previously, Mr. Copeland served as CHP's vice president, Network Management, and as interim chief operating officer of Family Health Plan, CHP's own managed care insurance carrier.
Before joining CHP in August 2000, he served as vice president, Care Management Development and Pharmacy for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina. Prior to that, Mr. Copeland served Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida in five progressively more responsible roles in facility contracting, auditing, capitation contracting, program development and other reimbursement functions.
He earned a bachelor's of science degree in psychology from the University of Florida and two master's degrees - one in health sciences and one in business administration - also from the University of Florida. Mr. Copeland is a graduate of the inaugural class (2003) of CHP's Leadership Academy. |
