Description of Practice:
Jeffrey R. Patterson is a partner in the firm's San Diego office. He practices in the firm's Business Litigation and Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Practice Groups. Mr. Patterson represents clients in all areas of commercial litigation including contested matters and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court. Mr. Patterson represents clients in many types of business and real property litigation, including contract, partnership, land use, landlord-tenant, construction and unfair competition cases. Mr. Patterson has particular expertise in representing lending institutions, portfolio purchasers and other secured lenders in connection with foreclosure/receivership matters, relief from stay proceedings and contested chapter 11 confirmation proceedings.
Mr. Patterson has lectured on the subject of Civil Procedure and has authored articles regarding treatment of undersecured claims in chapter 11 bankruptcy and judicial perspectives on relief from the automatic stay. He is an active member in numerous bar associations and educational forums including the Financial Lawyers Conference, the Orange County and San Diego Bankruptcy Forums, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the San Diego and American Bar Associations, the San Diego Legion Lex Inn of Court and the State Bar of California Litigation and Real Property Sections.
Educational History:
Mr. Patterson received his A.B. from Duke University and his J.D. from the University of Southern California. |
