Dr. Shaver joined Ception in January of 2006. In 2005, Dr. Shaver established a successful independent consulting practice to the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare Information Technology, and Defense industries. Prior to that, Dr. Shaver was V.P. of Portfolio Management in the North America business unit of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Ltd. Previously, Jeff was the V.P. for Portfolio Analytics and Metrics for GlaxoSmithKline's Research and Development organization, where he provided portfolio prioritization recommendations for over 200 late-stage drug development projects to GSK R&D's Executive Committee, as well as developing and deploying state-of-the-art Web-based portfolio and project tracking capabilities, priority project reporting, structured decision analytic support, manpower resource estimations, and project management training for the teams supporting GSK's late-stage portfolio of products. Jeff also held senior management positions at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, working in R&D project management, healthcare/disease management service delivery, healthcare-related information technology, and process reengineering. Jeff also served 28 years in the United States Air Force in the fields of space systems engineering, project management, technology research and development, and space systems policy, retiring in 1994 as a Colonel responsible for leading the $700 million development of the satellite and payload portions of a national space system being developed jointly by the Department of Defense, the Department of Commerce, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Jeff is a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Air Force Academy, and holds a Master of Science degree from Purdue University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
