Jeffrey S. Bornstein is chief financial officer of GE Commercial Finance and is a member of GE's Corporate Executive Counsel and GE Capital Board.
GE Commercial Finance provides financial products and services in 35 countries including Commercial Real Estate, Aviation Leasing, Corporate Finance, Energy and Healthcare Finance along with mid-market lending and leasing.
Mr. Bornstein joined GE in 1989 as part of the GE Power Systems' Financial Management Program. In 1992 he joined the GE Corporate Audit Staff and then became Executive Audit Manager. He became chief financial officer for GE Aircraft Engine Services in 1996 and vice president in 1998. In the next three years GE Engine Services became the number one jet engine service provider in the world and its revenues grew from $1.5 billion to $5 billion. In 1999, he was promoted to chief financial officer of GE Plastics.
Mr. Bornstein is a director for the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Southwestern Connecticut, and he is on the Board of Northeastern University and serves on its Audit Committee. He has also been involved in a number of youth programs. He participated in the national Junior Achievement program by teaching economics to seventh and eighth graders in economically challenged areas, and he is involved in several projects and fund raising events for Kid's Place, an outreach program for abused children.
Mr. Bornstein received his B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
