Jeffrey S. Phillips is a Managing Director in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. He has extensive experience in providing transaction and valuation opinions involving Fortune 500 and middle market companies. His experience includes rendering fairness, solvency and related transaction opinions to boards of directors, special committees, financial institutions and other fiduciaries in conjunction with merger and acquisition, going private, spin-off, recapitalization and financing transactions. Mr. Phillips also performs independent valuations of businesses and securities for gift and estate tax planning, financial reporting, Employee Stock Ownership Plans and other purposes. Mr. Phillips' experience has encompassed many industries, including aerospace and defense, government services, financial institutions, health care, technology and telecommunications, business and professional services, engineering and construction, basic industrial and manufacturing, real estate and professional sports. Mr. Phillips has lectured and presented numerous continuing education seminars on the subjects of valuation and transaction advisory services and has co-authored a number of articles on valuation related matters. He has also been quoted numerous times in the national press and has appeared on CNBC and CNN s MoneyLine regarding valuation and economic issues. Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Phillips was a Director with Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. During his tenure at Houlihan Lokey, he managed a variety of engagements involving financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, middle-market corporate finance and valuation matters. His responsibilities included rendering financial opinions for fairness, solvency and tax-related matters and representing clients in the sale or acquisition of companies as well as addressing capital requirements. Mr. Phillips was also a member of Houlihan Lokey s capital adequacy committee where he assisted with the quality control of the firm s solvency opinion practice. Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Phillips was an audit manager of a major public accounting firm specializing in middle-market companies. Mr. Phillips earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.B.A. in finance from the Indiana University Graduate School of Business. |
