Jeff Balagna joined Carlson in August 2005 as executive vice president, chief information and customer technology officer. Jeff oversees Information Technology across all Carlson business units, including the development and application of customer-facing IT operations, data, and software development.
Before joining Carlson, Jeff served as chief information officer at Medtronic for four years. During his tenure he oversaw the creation of a shared services organization and the deployment of Lean and Six Sigma processes to global operations. He was responsible for supply chain, quality IT, and shared services, and as Medtronic's first CIO, he instituted operational structure and discipline for each of these areas.
Prior to Medtronic, Jeff was with GE for four years and most recently held the position of general manager-operations of GE's $4-billion Medical Systems Americas division, and directed that group to greater than 20 percent per year record growth. While at GE, he also held the position of CIO of the company's Consumer Motors and Controls and GE Medical Systems Americas division.
Jeff is a board member of Tennant Company and he is on the advisory board of the CIO Executive Council in Framingham, MA. He is also a member of The Research Board in Washington, D.C.
Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Oakland University, in Rochester, MI. He is also a graduate of the GE Executive Development program at Crotonville, in Ossining, NY, and is a certified master black belt in Six Sigma and lean operations. |
