Jen is a member of the public law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, she interned for the San Francisco city attorney where she worked on wrongful termination, vendor licensing, massage parlor permit revocation and other matters. Before that, as a law clerk for the city attorney of the City of Berkeley, she researched a variety of issues of state and local law, including questions affecting utilities and law enforcement. She also participated in revising various Berkeley ordinances. In addition, Jen has experience assisting with a labor board hearing and researching political asylum questions. Jen received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While at Hastings she was a member of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review, volunteered at the Family Law Self-Help Center, and participated in the Local Government Law clinical course, for which she received a Witkin award for the best performance. Before law school, Jen was a conference center manager for the University of California at San Francisco. Active in several community service activities, Jen has volunteered as a tutor for San Francisco Network Ministries, UCSF Children's Hospital Schoolroom, John Adams Community College Center and Claremont Middle School. She has also served on the committee for "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" at UCSF, and worked as a group leader in the AmeriCorps pilot program. Jen graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A. in English. She has been awarded scholarships from the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Scholarship and the Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation. |
