Prior to joining Stream Communications, Mr. Christensen was Finance Director and a Board Member with Lafarge Gypsum Poland, where he had both strategic and operational responsibilities to develop and lead changes within the Polish Business Unit and to manage a re-organization and 'clean-up' of 5 fiscal years. Prior to his post at Lafarge, Mr. Christensen was Finance Director at AIG-CET Capital where, among other duties, he was responsible for the implementation of corporate governance and financial reporting in accordance with international standards, for re-organizing the finance function within the cable TV & internet portfolio company in Romania, and reviewing and appraising new investment opportunities with particular focus on media, TV and communications. As Regional Finance Manager with Central European Media Enterprises ("CME"), he successfully restructured the existing bank debt (in default) to long-term financing, obtained additional financing and was promoted to National Finance Manager, to take part in the launch of the national TV network, 'TVN' and, among other duties, set up its finance & accounting department. Mr. Christensen has over ten years of professional finance-related experience in Poland, in areas such as mergers & acquisitions, IT & administration, corporate structuring and development.
Mr. Christensen was born in Denmark and graduated from the University of Southern Denmark in Kolding with a degree comparable to the first part of a BA in Accounting and Finance. He joined the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in 1999. He has lived in Poland since 1992 and worked in different countries in the region, mainly Poland, former East Germany and Russia / Ukraine. In addition to his native Danish, Mr. Christensen also speaks English, German and Polish. |
