Jeremy Weitz is a Shareholder in the Business Practices Group in Los Angeles. His expertise covers securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate maintenance and formation, corporate finance, licensing and film finance and production. Mr. Weitz represents clients in a variety of industries, including apparel, retail, entertainment, mortgage lending, computer software, Internet, manufacturing, real estate and investment banking that range in size from small start-ups to multi-billion dollar publicly traded corporations.
Mr. Weitz is also a member of the Firm's Apparel Industries Practice Group. Mr. Weitz's apparel industry practice includes representation of manufacturers, importers, retailers, converters, textile mills, factors and banks. His experience in the apparel industry includes mergers and acquisitions, finance, commercial law, debtor and creditor relations, financial and business planning, licensing, copyright and trademark matters and corporate law.
In the community, Mr. Weitz has served as Fund Raising Chair for the Apparel Industries Group for the City of Hope. He has also been chosen as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star for both 2006 and 2007.
Mr. Weitz earned his B.A. with honors in Political Science at Emory University in 1995 and his J.D., cum laude, at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1998. While in law school, Mr. Weitz was awarded the dean's academic scholarship and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society and Order of the Coif.
