Jerry L. Lerman, CPA, is a Partner at Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP. He has been ranked as one of the outstanding tax professionals in the accounting profession today. As a tax and business advisor to companies and individuals for over 30 years, Mr. Lerman has addressed a wide range of tax and tax-related issues. His clients include law firms, restaurants and other service businesses, manufacturing businesses and groups primarily involved in mergers and acquisitions, and they vary in size from small family-owned businesses to public companies. A significant amount of Mr. Lerman's time is spent in tax structuring of international transactions to take advantage of today's global economy. As an appointed member of the Tax Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"), Mr. Lerman has been an active member of numerous technical committees including Small Business Taxation, S Corporation Taxation and Tax Practice and Procedures. He has participated in the review of various tax regulations proposed by the Treasury Department and has given testimony in Washington, D.C. Mr. Lerman is currently serving on the editorial advisory board of The Tax Adviser magazine published by the AICPA and is a frequent contributor to the publication. Mr. Lerman has written on tax issues in various professional publications, speaks regularly at tax symposiums, has been quoted on various tax matters in newspapers, and has appeared on network television and local cable programs. Mr. Lerman has been an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and has served on several of its professional committees, including the Committee on Tax Accounting Problems, the New York State Taxation Committee and the International Taxation Committee. He has also served as the editor of the "New York State Taxation" column of The CPA Journal. Mr. Lerman received his B.A. from Michigan State University. |
