Jerry is a partner in the employee benefits and executive compensation practice area. He designs, drafts and qualifies with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) qualified employee benefit plans, such as traditional and cash balance defined benefit plans, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, savings or thrift plans, money purchase pension plans, target benefit plans and employee stock ownership plans. Jerry has extensive experience drafting various welfare benefit plans and related arrangements, executive compensation plans and other forms of executive compensation. He also provides advice and counsel to clients regarding day-to-day issues encountered in maintaining and administering qualified plans, welfare benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements and various plans encountered in corporate mergers and acquisitions. Jerry advises plan sponsors and fiduciaries of employee benefit plans regarding prohibited transactions and fiduciary responsibility matters, compliance matters, corrective procedures and terminations in addition to requesting and obtaining letter rulings from the IRS and advisory opinions/prohibited transaction exemptions from the US Department of Labor.
