Prof. Paszkowski is a senior group leader at the Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) in Basel, Switzerland. His research interests are in the area of plant gene recombination and silencing. His numerous research accomplishments include the first successful transformation of plant cells with naked DNA, the first demonstration of gene targeting in plants, and the identification of genes controlling transcriptional silencing in plants. He received his Ph.D. from the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, and was a Senior Associate and Oberassistent at the Eidgen�ssische Technische Hochschule in Z�rich before assuming his duties at the FMI. Prof. Paszkowski has authored more than 70 scientific publications and is an inventor on numerous patents. |
