Dr. Roth is Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Geriatrician-in-Chief of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, and Associate Director at the General Clinical Research Center, Institute for Medical Research at North Shore LIJ. He is also an Investigator in Lab of Biomedical Science, Institute for Medical Research at North Shore-LIJ. Dr. Roth was the Assistant Surgeon General in the U.S. Public Health Service from 1985 until 1991. He has held distinguished positions at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, The Picower Institute, and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney disease following his graduation from Albert Einstein School of Medicine.
With expertise in gerontology and diabetes, Dr. Roth has chaired or acted as a closing speaker at leading symposia. In 2005 he led the Diabetes Grand Rounds at the Naomi Diabetes Center at Columbia. In 2004, he was the Session Chair or closing speaker at four conferences related to diabetes and was honored with a tribute at the NIH Symposium entitled "Celebrating the Diabetes Branch: A Tribute to Jesse Roth and Phil Gorden." Dr. Roth is widely published with over 400 published articles during his distinguished career. He joined our Scientific Advisory Board in February 2005. |
