unforgettable experience:
During a meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, I was the last to join a table where our president, Dennis Nelson, was seated. When my manager introduced me as her management trainee, Dennis stood up to shake my hand. And I thought "Wow! He actually interrupted his conversation and meal to meet me." How many of my college buddies can say that they've dined with their company's president after only three months on the job?

The best part about the Buckle's culture is that it changes from store to store. Experiences in each store will differ because the individual managers, teammates, and guests all create a unique dynamic. But one thing that remains consistent is that we all love what we're doing otherwise, who would stick around for 9, 16, 28, even 35 years?
skill builder:
The Buckle has really helped me develop a knack for recognizing, prioritizing, and taking action both within the store, as well as in my personal life. The challenge of managing several responsibilities at once is never easy, but I am learning how to manage tasks more effectively and efficiently. Additionally, the charge to develop leadership is one that I enjoy. Each day I'm learning to embrace the individual talents and interests of my teammates.
motivation:
When I met an area manager at my college's career fair and learned about the management development program, it seemed like the job was meant for me. What other company will invest so much in one person? They relocated me, are teaching me everything I need to know, offer great benefits, and provide opportunities for advancement and all for someone who had no previous experience!
background:
I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska shortly after my college graduation and was trained by two great managers. From the very beginning, I have been respected as a leader and challenged daily. In just six months, I've attended holiday meetings in Omaha, Nebraska, career meetings in Kearney, Nebraska, and led a store (for one week) in Phoenix, Arizona and now I'm off to manage my own Buckle.

I like to participate in sorority activities or hang out with friends by catching a movie or trying a new restaurant. I can always curl up with a juicy novel and a bowl of ice cream, but a date every now and then is a good thing, too. |
