Dr. Aldrich received his Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition in 1992 from The Pennsylvania State University. His research work examined the interaction of protein and carbohydrate digestion in the rumen and their effects on microbial protein production, amino acid flow to the small intestine, and dairy cattle performance. Parts of his thesis were published in the Journal of Dairy Science, The British Journal of Nutrition, and Animal Feed Science and Technology. Dr. Aldrich received his bachelor�s and master�s degrees from Cornell University.
Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Dr. Aldrich spent 9 years as a dairy specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension in Eastern New York State. During his tenure as an Extension Agent, Dr. Aldrich worked closely with dairy producers and developed educational programs in the areas of dairy cattle nutrition, herd management and engineering. In 1986 he received the Achievement Award presented by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents in recognition of excellence in extension service educational programs.
Dr. Aldrich has also operated and managed a dairy farm in partnership in Iowa.
Dr. Aldrich is a member of the American Dairy Science Association and the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS). |
