Dr. Jim Murray was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director in October 2006. He has degrees in Medicine and Surgery from London University (Charing Cross Hospital). He worked in hospital and general practice before joining the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Netherlands. Dr Murray has extensive world-wide experience in pre-clinical and clinical development of ethical drugs, diagnostics and
veterinary medicines. A co-founder of Shire Pharmaceuticals plc., he was Scientific Director and a main board member. He is currently an executive director at Hunter- Fleming Limited. where he was founder and CEO for 7 years. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the joint Royal Colleges of Physicians, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Royal Society of Medicine. Memberships include the Royal College of General Practitioners, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians, the Bio Industry Association and the British Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians. He is a Trustee of the Breast Cancer Campaign and a member of the Science and Industry Council of the South West Regional Development Agency. |
