Jim grew up in the Midwest near St. Louis Missouri. He graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville for post-graduate education in accounting. Jim�s first experience with banking occurred right out of college when he worked for Mercantile Bank of St. Louis in the accounting department.
Later he joined a regional CPA firm as a tax accountant and auditor. As an auditor he audited several financial institutions including credit unions and small community banks. From there Jim joined the ranks of the big four accounting firms working with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in St. Louis where he consulted directly with high-level executives of large corporations such as Dell Anheuser-Busch Emerson Electric and Monsanto in financial planning tax consulting investment management stock-option analysis estate planning and tax return compilation.
Jim moved to Austin TX to help establish a new Austin practice for Ernst & Young in their Personal Financial Counseling Group. His duties included develop & maintain relationships with high net-worth individuals and families acting as their personal CFO by offering family office type-services including wealth transfer planning philanthropic management risk management income tax planning investment management and business planning.
In March 2003 Jim joined one of his family office clients in creating a mortgage company called Texas One Home Loans. As CEO of the mortgage company he helped created a joint venture to establish Treaty Oak Mortgage.
Jim has attained the following professional designations during his career: Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer in Texas; Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Financial Planner (CFP); Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers. He is a member of the board of the River Place Homeowners Association.
For hobbies Jim is an avid soccer fan as he was an All-America soccer player in high school and four year full scholarship soccer player in college and he competed for a spot on the 1992 US Men�s Olympic Soccer Team. |
