Jim Zielinski has bought and sold many businesses over his career, the most recent being that of Hanley Wood LLC in 1999 to Veronis Suhler Stevenson, followed by the sale of Hanley Wood LLC again in 2005 to JP Morgan Partners. Before becoming Chief Financial Officer for Hanley Wood in 1997, Jim had a long career in investment banking and commercial banking with Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. and Bankers Trust Company. He built a banking business for Bankers Trust in Atlanta during the 1980s, growing from profits of less than $1 million and a small staff to profits of almost $20 million and a staff of 40 professionals in 1989. He has been involved in many acquisition financings, helping companies achieve their growth objectives. During the 1990s, Jim worked in the equity business at Bankers Trust, making equity investments and mezzanine financings available to growth companies, and also assisting companies with ownership transition, as owner entrepreneurs moved to other activities or elected to retire. Zielinski is a graduate of The Ohio State University and has an MBA from Columbia University. |
