Joanne Geha Swanson is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mrs. Swanson specializes in the areas of civil litigation and appeals. Her litigation practice primarily involves complex commercial disputes, antitrust, class actions and other related matters. Mrs. Swanson also devotes a significant percentage of her professional time to state and federal appellate practice, frequently involving ground-breaking constitutional issues and questions of statutory interpretation, medical liability issues, tort reform issues, insurance issues, and other related areas.
Mrs. Swanson is a past chairperson of the Antitrust, Franchise, and Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and served in various capacities on the Section�s council for five years. A former co-editor of the Section�s publication, Michigan Trade Regulation, Mrs. Swanson is also a contributor to State Antitrust Practice and Statutes, Michigan, and has published articles for the Michigan Business Law Journal, the Michigan Defense Quarterly, Laches, and Michigan Medicine.
Mrs. Swanson is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, and the Detroit Bar Association. She has served her local school-home community as a Girl Scout leader, Parent Teacher Organization Executive Board Officer, parochial education teacher, and futuring committee member.
Mrs. Swanson is a 1981 graduate, cum laude, of Wayne State University Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Michigan State University, with concentrations in history, English, economics and political science. |
