Joanne M. Maguire was named Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in July 2006.
Prior to this assignment she served as Vice President and Deputy of Space Systems Company having been appointed to that position July 2003. In this capacity she assisted the Executive Vice President of Space Systems with the full range of general management duties. Previously, she also served as the company�s Vice President, Special Programs, focusing on sensitive national security space system developments.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Ms. Maguire served as Deputy and Vice President of Business Development for TRW Space & Electronics (S&E), now Northrop Grumman Space Technology. In addition to sharing the S&E CEO�s general management duties, she led the business development function, overseeing strategy formulation, program development, marketing and communications, technology development and discretionary investment.
Previously, Ms. Maguire was Vice President and General Manager of S&E�s Space & Laser Programs Division, managing contracts for civil space systems as well as laser systems. Before that, Ms. Maguire served as Vice President and General Manager of S&E�s Space & Technology Division, providing engineering, manufacturing, assembly and test support to all of TRW�s spacecraft and laser programs as well as associated advanced technology development. She has also served as Deputy General Manager of S&E�s Defense Systems Division, which managed space systems activities that support national defense. Earlier, Ms. Maguire served as Program Manager for the Defense Support Program, directing spacecraft production and satellite integration, test, launch and deployment. Ms. Maguire joined TRW in 1975 and has held a succession of increasingly responsible technical and management positions participating broadly in space system design and development activities.
Ms. Maguire earned her bachelor�s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and a master�s degree in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is a graduate of the executive program in management at UCLA�s Anderson School of Management and completed the Harvard Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security. Ms. Maguire serves as a director on the boards of Space Foundation and INROADS, Inc. She is a member of AIAA and the Society of Women Engineers. |
