Joanne Disch is a professor and director of the Katharine J. Densford International Center for Nursing Leadership, and holds the Katherine R. and C. Walton Lillehei Chair in Nursing Leadership at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. In 2006, Disch was elected chairperson of the National Board of AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, for a two-year term. Disch served as president of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and as president of the AACN Certification Board. She is a member of the Health Advisory Board for Capella University. Disch received her nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin, her master's degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her PhD from the University of Michigan. She is also a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. |
