Joe Brisben became a financial advisor in our Coralville office in late July. Before coming to BDF, he was a broker with SCI Financial Group in Cedar Rapids for 20 years. Joe specializes in pre-retirement planning and financing college educations. He learned the latter skill the hard way, by putting four children through college over the course of nine years. A native of Enid, OK, Joe earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Chicago and a M.A. degree in late 19th and early 20th century literature from Drake University. To cover his intellectual nakedness in finance, he earned a CFP� certificate from the College for Financial Planning in Denver. Joe writes a monthly column about finance and the economy for the Iowa Source.
