Joe Markee is a founding partner of Express Ventures, venture capital fund that invests in "Pre Series A" ventures in San Diego. Express makes investments in technology firms in the wireless, software, communications, networking, web and internet space.Prior to Express, Mr. Markee served as Chief Executive Officer for Figure 8 Wireless. Mr. Markee has over twenty-five years of experience in networking and communications technology. Prior to Figure 8, Mr. Markee was Co-Founder and Founding-CEO of Copper Mountain Networks, a DSL equipment provider. At Copper Mountain, Mr. Markee helped grow the company from scratch to over 400 employees and revenue in excess of US$400M. From 1988-1995, Mr. Markee was Co-Founder and held several senior management roles at Primary Access, a remote access server company, which was sold to 3Com in 1994. In addition to other functions, Mr. Markee's responsibilities included building both the Operations and Customer Support organizations. Prior to Primary Access/3Com, he also held senior product manager and engineering positions at General Instrument and M/A-Com Linkabit.
