In his role as president of Metaldyne's Chassis Group, Joe Nowak has global responsibility for the Group, including sales, engineering, finance and human resources. He also is a member of the Metaldyne Executive Committee and serves as executive champion for Metaldyne University and the Metaldyne Operating System.
Over the past two years, Mr. Nowak has played a critical role in Metaldyne's acquisition and integration of DaimlerChrysler's New Castle, Ind. operation, including the due diligence process, management of the joint venture, and final stock purchase.
Prior to his current position, he was president and general manager of MascoTech Tubular Products, where he affected major turnarounds in all three business segments. He was directly responsible for the group's sales and strategic planning, engineering and testing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and financial planning.
Previously, Mr. Nowak served as president of MascoTech Industrial Components and executive vice president of the Huron St. Clair Division. Mr. Nowak has over 25 years of manufacturing experience in automotive and industrial markets with MascoTech, Kelsey-Hayes/Varity and Ford Motor Company-Transmission & Chassis Division.
Mr. Nowak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI and a Masters of Business Administration, with a major in finance, from Western Michigan University. Mr. Nowak also attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.
He is based at Metaldyne's corporate headquarters in Plymouth, Mich.
