His combination of business and technology experience brings a unique perspective and depth to businesses adopting new technologies and delivery channels. Throughout his career, he has been at the forefront of wholesale electronic banking and payment developments. Joe's banking experience spans international and domestic work with prominent global organizations such as Manufacturer's Hanover, Marine Midland Bank, Mellon Bank and Wells Fargo. In the early 1980's, as a principal of ITC, Spatarella and company founders designed and developed the ACCESS system, which became the dominant in-house online Cash Management system and was later acquired by DISC. There, Spatarella held the position of Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing with specific emphasis on the development of wholesale electronic banking products. After SSI (now Checkfree) acquired DISC in 1994, Spatarella founded Electronic Services Management, LLC (ESM), an independent provider of consulting, training and software tools for cash and treasury management, where he assisted major institutions with product strategies and implementations of image and web platforms. In 1999, Magnet Communications, the developer of the first web-based cash management system, acquired ESM where Spatarella, as EVP of Corporate Development, ramped the initial sales, consulting and marketing functions for the company. In 2001, he joined a leading provider of electronic payment solutions, as Regional Sales Manager and sold ASP-based payment solutions to the banking and commercial markets. |
