Mr. Makee is a partner in the Cleveland office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP and chairs the firm's Education Law Practice. He served as the chief legal officer for Case Western Reserve University as University Attorney for over 30 years (from January 1973 until August 2003). He graduated from Wittenberg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a Board member of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. After graduating from law school, Mr. Makee served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jack G. Day, Judge of the Eighth District Court of Appeals of Ohio. He is a member of the Greater Cleveland and Ohio State Bar Associations and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. He has also served on the Legal Advisory Committee of the United Educators Insurance. Mr. Makee's law practice focuses on labor and employment and college and university law, as well as other forms of litigation. |
