Joel F. Johnson, ASA has been advising clients in mergers & acquisitions and valuing companies since the mid 1980s. Joel founded Orchard Partners in 1998. Joel has been designated an Accredited Senior Appraiser by the American Society of Appraisers, and he holds NASD Series 7 certification. He serves on the Applications Issues Task Force advising the Securities and Exchange Commission on valuation issues related to the implementation of financial accounting standards numbers 141 and 142. He regularly publishes articles on topics in corporate finance in M&A Today and other publications. Representative articles include Who Needs a Fairness Opinion?, Valuing Intangible Assets, Valuing High Tech Companies and Selecting the Right Multiple. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Boston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, on the Listing Committee for the Boston Stock Exchange and as President of the Board of Trustees for the Fruitlands Museums.
Prior to forming his own company, Joel worked for Fechtor, Detwiler & Co., American Broadcasting Companies and General Electric Credit Corporation. Joel has an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado, where he was a Rockwell Scholar, and he is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College |
