Cook's portfolio is wide-ranging, extending to classrooms, lecture halls, videoconference rooms, sports and recreation facilities, houses of worship, hospitals and theaters. His work includes high-profile projects for higher education institutions such as Syracuse University, Ohio University, Ohio State University West Virginia University and SUNY-Albany, and corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline, Mitsubishi Electric and Equitable Resources.
A frequent speaker on technology integration, John has presented at educational conferences including the Society of College and University Planning and the Association of College Unions International, among others.
John brings to The Sextant Group over 20 years experience in the field, including 12 years in the audiovisual systems integration business. He participated on, or headed the design team of eight national award-winning projects. Facilities recognized in the "Best Presentation Rooms" contest by Presentations Magazine and Training Journal include a videoconference room, a corporate boardroom, a conference room, two auditoria and a training center. For the "Best Telecommunication Installation" competition by Gentner Communications Corporation, his award-winning projects include the two boardrooms for large medical centers. He was also on the design team for other renowned presentation and conferencing spaces such as Steelcase University Learning Center in Grand Rapids MI, the Sales Training Center for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis IN, and training and conference facilities for global telecommunications equipment manufacturer Marconi Communications.
Cook holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Purdue University, and is accredited as a Certified Technology Specialist. He was also an Instructor in the Schools of Technology and Education while at Purdue University.
