John A. Haase is a shareholder in the Labor and Employment and Litigation Law Practice Groups of Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. He serves as the Managing Shareholder of the Firm's Green Bay office. He is engaged in a broad-based employment law practice, representing both public and private employers in matters before equal rights agencies, arbitrators and federal and state courts. A substantial amount of John's practice involves advising employers on a variety of employment issues, such as non-compete agreements, terminations, FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour matters. In addition, John maintains an active litigation practice dedicated to the representation of business/employer interests in employment and commercial disputes. In recent years, John has assisted businesses with the following matters:
Successfully enforced non-compete agreements on behalf of a large accounting firm against three departing employees.
Obtained summary judgment for a publicly traded document management firm on a claim of pregnancy discrimination.
Negotiated significant health insurance concessions during collective bargaining on behalf of municipal entity with four bargaining units. John represents clients in the manufacturing, retail, service and public sector areas. John received his bachelor of business administration degree from St. Norbert College and his law degree magna cum laude, from Valparaiso University of Law. He served as the executive editor of publication for the Valparaiso University Law Review during the 1990-91 school year. He began his law practice in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps where he served as a trial attorney. John is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and the federal courts in those states. He is a member of the American Bar Association and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Golden House Family Violence Center of Brown County.
