John A. West John is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, and the Appellate Team Co-Chair. He has spent his entire career as a litigator. He is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in Kentucky and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America in three categories: Commercial Litigation, Appellate Practice and Alternate Dispute Resolution.
John's practice over the years has primarily focused on business and commercial disputes for both plaintiffs and defendants, and as a defense attorney in federal criminal prosecutions. Recently he won acquittals for firm clients in two high profile federal criminal prosecutions in Kentucky.
John is also active in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution and is a Certified Mediator. In addition to mediating cases as a mediator, John advises firm clients on ADR techniques and practices. He is a volunteer mediator for the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Ohio and the Boone Circuit Court in Kentucky.
John is a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference and was recently appointed by the Chief Judge to a three year term on the Life Members Committee.
