John Donaldson has more than 30 years of experience in taxation law and economic consulting with focus on transfer pricing issues, such as documentation and planning, audit defense strategies, Advance Pricing Agreements, and negotiations with revenue authorities, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. His industry specializations include the pharmaceutical, motor vehicle, food and produce, cosmetics, and information technology field. From 1972 to 1989, Mr. Donaldson served in various line officer positions before becoming an assistant commissioner in the Policy and Legislation Division of the Australian Taxation Office, where he led a team in the development of tax policy with regard to domestic and international projects. He also instructed Parliamentary Counsel on drafting proposed laws, oversaw draft legislation through the Legislation Committee of the Cabinet and both Houses of Parliament, and prepared explanatory memoranda utilized in the implementation of new national tax laws. |
