John is responsible for the GASB 43 and 45 and FAS 106 valuation and benefit consulting services in the Vienna, VA office of Milliman. He is responsible for all pension and retiree health valuation work for the City of Falls Church and other clients. He has completed GASB valuations for the State of Florida, the State of West Virginia, the State of Delaware, the City of Falls Church, VA, Ocean City, MD, and other county and municipal employers.
In his role as an employee benefits actuary and consultant, John helps clients design, price, and implement retiree healthcare and other employee benefit plans.
John has spoken on GASB 45 and other topics at local and national conferences. He has addressed the Maryland GFOA, Virginia GFOA, NCPERS annual conference, and other groups.
Experience
John Muehl joined Milliman in 2000 and is a consulting actuary. He has over 35 years of employee benefits design, funding, and administration experience. He is responsible for defined benefit pension work and other post employment benefit work relating to GASB statements 43 and 45 and FASB statement 106. Prior to joining Milliman, Inc., John was employed by Watson Wyatt in Washington, D.C. and Meidinger and Associates in Louisville, KY.
