John Wynne is a senior litigation principal at Duckor Spradling Metzger & Wynne. John's experience includes the representation of business entities and individuals in business litigation. John is a preeminent employment trial lawyer in town and leads the firm's employment practice group.
The employment practice at Duckor Spradling Metzger & Wynne involves the litigation and trial of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination and wage and hour cases. This representation primarily involves the defense of businesses sued by former or existing employees. John also advises employers on employment-related practices, such as employee discipline or termination, investigation of claimed workplace issues, the preparation and review of employment documents and plans, and training of management employees. John is frequently involved in counseling key executives in termination/severance arrangements with former employers and advising them in their transition to new management positions. His practice also includes representation of employers before various state and federal administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (on discrimination matters) or the California Labor Commissioner.
John has also litigated a number of intellectual property cases. These include patent, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and related cases.
Additionally, John has extensive experience in other types of business litigation. He has represented parties in real estate, corporate, partnership, contract and trust/estate disputes.
John received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974. He graduated from UCLA School of Law in 1978. Upon graduation, he received the American Board of Trial Advocates Award for excellence in preparation for the trial practice of law. After practicing in San Diego and Santa Barbara, John joined the firm in 1985 and became a principal in 1986.
John and his wife, Colleen have four children. John has been involved in a number of bar association, church and community activities. Among them is active participation and membership on the board of directors of a local ministry which has built over 4,000 homes in the poorer neighborhoods of Mexico. |
