Prior to joining Huron, John co-founded Optisave, LLC where he worked with telecommunication providers to negotiate and deliver cost efficient and effective telecom solutions for their clients.

As Vice President for iBasis, Inc., John built a new sales team to sell enhanced services to telecommunications carriers worldwide. Revenue grew to $6 million during the first year. He signed contracts with major carriers including Sprint PCS, Telus, Monet Mobile, and CyNet.
As Vice President for Wildfire Communications, John repositioned Wildfire's product and service offerings for the mass market. He developed and implemented a new "Go to Market" strategy and built North American, Latin American, and European sales and partner channels. He signed major contracts with France Telecom, Bougyues Telecom, and BT BLUE Italy and launched the first voice actuated carrier-based service offerings in the United States with PacBell Wireless in the Los Angeles and San Diego markets.
As International Vice President for Centigram Communications Corporation, John developed and implemented a new international strategy that was focused on Latin American, Asian Pacific, and European markets. He built the company's international infrastructure that consisted of six offices supporting customers in 43 different countries. He increased international revenue from 9% to 46% of the corporate total and captured a 40% market share in Latin America and 70% of the United Kingdom cable market. He negotiated a global purchase agreement with Cable & Wireless PLC, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies. Other major customers included Bell South International and Millicom.
As Regional Vice President for Centigram Communications Corporation, John was responsible for the teleco, service provider, and enterprise markets in the Midwest, Northeast and Eastern Canada. He managed three high performing sales teams with a total of 18 people and increased revenue over 200% to $41.6 million. He developed strategic relationships with Ameritech, NYNEX, NEC, and Motorola.
As Vice President responsible for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for Com Dev, Inc John established a network of distributors including GTE, Southwestern Bell, PacTel, Northern Telecom, Rockwell and Siemens. He increased revenue from $6 million to over $14 million, helping Com Dev became the market share leader.
As Vice President and General Manager for United Technologies Communications Company, he managed a group of nine sales and service centers in the Midwest with over 200 employees. Revenue growth averaged 30% each year through the sale of telephone systems and services to businesses. He helped establish overall corporate direction, pricing and compensation policies.
