John Dowling is vice president of operations at Sycamore Networks, Inc. where he is responsible for all manufacturing and systems integration activities.
Mr. Dowling has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and data networking industries, and is recognized as a pioneer in adapting manufacturing partnerships to meet customers' requirements for scheduling and quality. Prior to joining Sycamore, Mr. Dowling was vice president of operations at Nortel Networks, Aptis Communications -- which was acquired by Nortel -- and Cascade Communications. At all three companies, Mr. Dowling was responsible for managing the manufacture of carrier class, high availability products that meet and exceed customer requirements for quality and reliability. Previously, Mr. Dowling held management positions at Data General where he was responsible for MiniComputer High End Peripheral products, and Eastman Kodak where he developed manufacturing strategies for high volume consumer products. Mr. Dowling holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in Manufacturing & Management Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. |
