Jack is special counsel in the real estate department. He focuses his practice on land use, representing developers in the acquisition of real property, due diligence, obtaining entitlements for the proposed use and the development of the property. Prior to beginning the practice of law, Jack was a 1st Lieutenant, Field Artillery, United States Army, 1968-1971; and Major (retired), Field Artillery, United States Army Reserve, 1971-1988.
Representative Matters
Jack has represented clients in over 500 rezonings in the past 25 years. He has represented local citizens, businesses and developers, as well as regional and national developers on matters ranging from small residential developments and telecommunications facilities to office, hotel, commercial , industrial and mixed use developments of all sizes. His practice has primarily been in Durham County and the City of Durham.
