Current responsibility
John is a principal with the New York office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1996. John is responsible for the delivery of health and welfare client consulting and actuarial services.
Experience
John has over 25 years of experience in health and welfare product development, pricing, underwriting, and plan design for all group coverages, including retiree welfare benefits for FAS 106 and SOP 92-6 calculations. He consults on a variety of issues with some of the New York office's largest public, corporate, and Taft-Hartley clients and is lead health and welfare consultant on the 1199 National Benefit Fund. John's experience includes:
Plan design and cost containment studies
Consumer-driven healthcare plan analysis
Projection of health plan contribution rates and expenses
Assistance in collective bargaining negotiations
Evaluation of cost impact of new legislation such as Medicare Part D
Reserve calculations
Development of FAS 106 and SOP 92-6 healthcare assumptions
