Jay Butler has extensive experience with mergers, acquisitions and the creation of joint ventures including those in which environmental issues have played a prominent role.
Mr. Butler assists clients with a wide range of transactional matters, including the purchase and sale of businesses, commercial contracting and the creation of new business ventures. Mr. Butler has worked extensively with private equity clients in structuring leveraged acquisitions and in divesting those acquisitions. He has recently been involved in providing legal representation for the purchase and sale of manufacturing companies with operations throughout the country and in connection with setting up joint ventures for manufacturing operations in China.
In addition to his transactional practice, Mr. Butler has experience in environmental law that extends to all aspects of environmental regulation and transactions involving property with environmental impacts. He has advised businesses on issues ranging from environmental considerations in property and stock transactions to environmental regulatory compliance and permitting, including the variety of issues that surround Brownfields redevelopment.
