Litigation
John J. Galban is a member of Seward & Kissel�s Litigation Group. He joined the Firm in 1984 and became Counsel in 2001.
Mr. Galban focuses his practice on complex commercial and corporate litigation, including insurance coverage disputes, international law, bankruptcy, real estate and securities litigation.
Mr. Galban received a B.A. degree in sociology from Hunter College in 1970. In 1984, he received a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden Scholar. While at New York University, he was a staff member and contributor to Annual Survey of American Law. Mr. Galban was appointed to the Departmental Disciplinary Committee of the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department, from 1992 to 1998. He currently serves as a Referee for the Appellate Division. He also serves as an Arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York (Small Claims Part). He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Puerto Rican Bar Association.
Mr. Galban is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York, and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. |
