Formerly the Director of Florida's Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, John completed his undergraduate degree work at Florida State University. He continued his education by completing post-graduate work in public administration, government, management and law at FSU and the University of Virginia. John's experience in government licensing and regulatory practices spans more than 38 years, during which time he began his government career at the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco ("ABT") in the mail room and was promoted into almost every position in the ABT, including its director, as well as being appointed the Director of Florida's Pari-Mutual Wagering Division. John left public service to work with the lawyers and professionals who now comprise GrayRobinson's Alcohol Industry Team. John has significant and extensive experience with business and government in state and local alcohol and tobacco policies and practices related to licensing, tax audits, enforcement, certifications, and regulations. He has been recognized by the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators (NCSLA), the American Bar Association, and numerous government and private groups. In addition to his knowledge of alcohol and tobacco licensing and enforcement regulations and procedures, he has experience solving state and local licensing and regulatory problems with other executive-branch agencies.
