John Holland, 54, is the former chairman and chief executive officer of Butler Manufacturing Company, which was acquired by BlueScope Steel, the Australian steel maker, in April 2004.
Holland joined Butler Manufacturing in 1980, as corporate accounting manager and served as Vice President-Controller of the company�s Buildings Division, and Vice President Corporate Controller. He also served eight years as chief financial officer. Previously, Holland held positions at St. Luke�s Hospital and Andersen LLP.
Holland is on the board of directors for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company and St. Luke�s Health System. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for William Jewell College. He actively participates in the Kansas City Tomorrow Leadership Group and formerly served as chairman of the board of the Heart of America Family Services, a United Way agency.
In 1972, Holland received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Kansas, where he also earned his MBA in 1980. He is a certified public accountant as well as a member of the Financial Executives Institute, Inc. and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
