John J. Sullivan is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's New York office. As a member of the Firm's Corporate Department and the Firm's International Practice Group, John concentrates his practice on banking, corporate and securities matters, including representation of foreign banks in their banking and securities operations in the United States. John also represents U.S. financial institutions and U.S. and foreign investment banks in U.S. related activities. In addition, John's practice also involves representation of investment advisors and asset managers as well as offshore investment funds sponsored by such entities.
John is the author or co-author of several works on foreign investment in the United States, including "Application of Margin Rules to Tender Offers by Foreign Investors," 8 North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation 17 (1982), "Doing Business in the U.S.A." (1984), and "Business Opportunities in the U.S." (1992). He is admitted to the New York bar and is a member of the American Bar Association.
