Mr. Shaffer is a senior shareholder of ST&G, and has extensive experience representing debtors and creditors in chapter 11 cases. Mr. Shaffer attended Stanford University where he received his A.B. with honors and distinction in 1986. He received his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California in 1989 where he served as Book Review Editor for the California Law Review. He was a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Shaffer served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Alex Kozinski, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, from 1989 to 1990 and as Law Clerk to the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court from 1990 to 1991. Mr. Shaffer is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy-related topics, including for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the California Bankruptcy Forum, the Norton Institutes on Bankruptcy, and the American Law Institute - American Bar Association. He co-authored "Creditors' Committee Under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code," 44 S.C. L. Rev. 995 (1993). |
