Captain Grenier was appointed Vice President and Operational Compliance Officer in December 2005. In this role Captain Grenier reports to the CEO and is responsible for auditing all operational practices and procedures for the Company�s fleet and shoreside environmental training and technical operations.
Captain Grenier joins OSG following a 30-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard with professional experience in the maritime industry including regulatory enforcement vessel inspections environmental protection and response emergency management and personnel training. Captain Grenier has served as Chief of Staff of the First Coast Guard District where he was second in command of the U.S. Coast Guard forces from Canada to northern New Jersey. While assigned to Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. Captain Grenier directed the Coast Guard�s program for investigation of merchant shipping accidents and violations of marine safety and environmental laws. He served as Captain of the Port of Boston with responsibility for port safety and security including the shipping of liquefied natural gas into Boston.
Captain Grenier holds a bachelor of science degree in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a master of science in engineering degree in naval architecture/marine engineering from the University of Michigan. He is also a registered professional engineer. |
