John La Puma, MD, F.A.C.P., coauthor of The RealAge Diet and Cooking the Realage Way, is the founder of the Santa Barbara Institute for Medical Nutrition and Healthy Weight, a division of CHEF Clinic (Cooking, Healthy Eating and Fitness Clinic). A graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. La Puma performed his residency in internal medicine at UCLA and the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and completed the first postgraduate fellowship in the country in medical ethics and general internal medicine at the University of Chicago.
