John M. Urbanchuk is responsible for managing and providing a broad range of economic, planning, marketing, and policy analysis consulting services to firms and associations involved in several industries including those involved in agriculture, consumer foods, consumer finance, telecommunications, and business services industries. Prior to joining AUS Consultants, Mr. Urbanchuk was Executive Vice President for AUS Consultants, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist for Hill and Knowlton, Inc., Vice President with Wharton Econometrics, and Manager-Economic Research for Campbell Soup Company. He has extensive experience in applied economics, corporate strategic and market planning and is a specialist on Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Mr. Urbanchuk specializes in applying economic analysis tools to individual firm and industry problems. This includes market analysis, business and marketing strategy development, corporate development, and analysis of the impact of government policy and regulatory changes on business and industry. The results of these studies are provided to clients as reports and in direct presentations to senior management. Frequently, these studies are used in support of client and industry association government and public relations activities.
Examples of John's work include the development of domestic and international marketing strategies; intellectual property and brand equity valuation; evaluation of new technologies, analysis of environmental issues; construction of product line forecasting models for consumer and producer goods; completion of economic cost-benefit analysis to support plant and equipment investment decisions; market analysis to corporate acquisitions; and the analysis of implications for industry of changes in public policy and international trade issues. He has also analyzed the state and local economic implications of specific fiscal policy issues in Pennsylvania, California, Minnesota, New Mexico, New Jersey, and Washington.
Mr. Urbanchuk has testified as an expert witness before numerous congressional committees, including the Senate Finance Committee, House Ways and Means Committee, Joint Economic Committee, the Senate and House Agriculture Committees, and the International Trade Commission. He has also testified as an expert witness before the Canadian Import Tribunal as well as committees of the general assemblies of Pennsylvania, California, Washington, Minnesota, New Mexico, and New Jersey, and as an expert before proceedings of the Federal Courts.
John is an adjunct professor of marketing at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia where he teaches graduate courses in international marketing; marketing management, industrial policy; and a graduate seminar on Russia and Eastern Europe in the Global Marketplace. John also has lectured at Penn State University, the University of Missouri-Columbia, the University of Delaware, Purdue, University, The JFK Center for Special Warfare, the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, and the Hungarian Academy of Science.
Mr. Urbanchuk is a Vietnam veteran and graduate of the U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer Program as a specialist in Eurasia (the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe). In this capacity he served as a Politico-Military Officer on the Army Staff at the Pentagon. John holds a B.S. in economics from Penn State University, an M.A. in economics from Temple University, and has completed all course requirements for the Ph.D. at Temple. |
