John P. Hammond is a partner in the Corporate Department of McDermott Will & Emery, resident in the Firm's Chicago office. John represents private and public companies as well as financial institutions in connection with secured and unsecured credit facilities, asset-based lending, acquisition financings, insurance industry financings, ESOP financings, senior subordinated debt, and mezzanine transactions.
John is a member of the Firm's Financial Products, Trading and Derivatives Group and participates in the negotiation and documentation of ISDA Master Agreements, collateral agreements, prime brokerage agreements, repurchase agreements and securities lending agreements. John also assists hedge funds and other clients in the documentation of structured finance transactions and synthetic investments using derivatives.
John earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in History, magna cum laude, from The George Washington University in 1998. He received a J.D., cum laude, from The University of Michigan Law School in 2001.
John is admitted to practice in Illinois. He is a fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
