John Levin is co-founder and senior counsel at Folger Levin & Kahn LLP, and was chairman and managing partner of the firm from 1978 to 2006. Mr. Levin earned degrees from Harvard University (B.A., cum laude, 1969), Stanford University (M.A., 1970) and Stanford Law School (J.D., 1973), and served as law clerk to California Supreme Court Associate Justice Stanley Mosk from 1973 to 1974. Mr. Levin has been a member of the California Bar since 1973. From 1991 through 1995, Mr. Levin was a member of the Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Group of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Mr. Levin is involved in a wide range of community activities and has served on numerous boards. He is currently vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of Stanford University. In addition, he is also active in the leadership of Stanford Law School, serving as a member of the Dean's Advisory Council, as co-chair of the Campaign for Stanford Law School and as a member of the Executive Committee of the school's Board of Visitors. Mr. Levin has also served as a member of the Committee on University Resources of Harvard University. Mr. Levin's other volunteer activities include service as co-chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation, chair of the Board of Trustees of the Louise and Claude Rosenberg, Jr. Family Foundation, vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of Marin Country Day School and a member of the Board of Trustees of Marin Academy and Team-Up for Youth.
