John McDermott was appointed senior vice president Global Sales & Solutions in October 2005. In his current position McDermott is responsible for the company's world-wide sales force as well as the company's services and solutions businesses.
Prior to being named senior vice president of Global Manufacturing Solutions in 2002 McDermott served as senior vice president North and South Americas Sales regions with overall responsibility for the U.S. Canada and Latin America regions.
McDermott joined Allen-Bradley in 1980 and was assigned to the Milwaukee district office where he held various positions until 1987 when he was named industry sales manager Forest Products Industry. In 1989 he became manager Commercial Marketing Programmable Controller Division and was later named director Commercial Programs Industrial Computer and Communications group. McDermott was promoted to district manager Milwaukee district sales office in January 1991. In February 1992 McDermott was named director Marketing Automation Systems Architecture and was later appointed director Marketing for Allen-Bradley's PLC business. In December 1993 McDermott was promoted to vice president Standard Drives Business. He was named senior vice president Motion & Information Group Rockwell Automation in January 1998 a position he held until being named to oversee North and South Americas Sales region in 2000.
McDermott earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University. |
