John R. Fielder is president of Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the nation's largest electric utilities.
Previously, he was senior vice president of SCE's Regulatory Policy and Affairs, responsible for developing and implementing regulatory policies and managing proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission and other regulatory agencies. In that role, he was also responsible for the utility's Environmental Affairs organization. In October 2005, he was elected president of the company.
Fielder began his Edison career in 1970 and held a variety of supervisory and management positions in the Information Services organization. He was named vice president of Information Services, SCE's technology and systems organization, in 1989. He assumed the role of vice president of Regulatory Policy and Affairs in 1992 and was promoted to senior vice president in 1998.
Fielder is a member of the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation and serves on the boards of directors of Miller Children's Hospital, the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Southern California Leadership Council, and the Alliance to Save Energy.
He earned his law degree from Pepperdine University Law School, his M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. |
